About

Several years before retirement, Doug and I talked about riding across the country on our bicycles.  We even bought several books to read about other people's journeys and decide if it really was achievable for us.  When our retirement journey together ended much too soon, I never thought I would be able to pursue this (our) dream. That was until I mentioned it on Face Book and someone volunteered to pedal with me...

I rode with good friend, and Iron Woman, Janet Casto. Janet is the kind of athlete that I dreamed of being when I was younger.  At the time of the ride, I had reached the "new middle age" of sixty, and I absorbed her encouragement as we pedaled across the country.  We rode along with Bubba's Pampered Peddlers - Coast to Coast (C2C).

I may not have the best form when riding, but I have been building up my stamina and finished the ride with a smile in my heart and on my face.  And I know a very special cycling guardian angel looked out for me as we climbed mountains, crossed valleys, and navigated busy roadways.
