Day 30 - Easter - Lockhart to La Grange, TX

Happy Easter! In the spirit of Easter, sometime between 11pm and 2am, a visit was made to everyone’s tent with a small surprise left behind.  It was a pleasant start to the morning and for a short time there was a light fog.  There were a few hills today, but nothing like the past two days.  And that was a good thing because my knees are aching from Texas hill country.  I was glad that today was shorter so my knees can recover.  Word has it that along with 89 miles tomorrow, there will be more climbing.  Lunch was sandwiches that we made ourselves at breakfast.  That also means there were no interesting towns to stop and have lunch.  We did travel some beautiful back roads.  There were fields and fields of gorgeous wild flowers along the road today – a flower lover’s paradise.  I didn’t get a picture, but we did pass a charcoal making business along the road (on Charcoal Road). As we biked up there were rows and rows of wood logs.  I was trying to figure out what it was and didn’t realize until it was just a little too late to stop.

Stopped to snap this photo because I used to live in Delhi Township back in Michigan.  This Delhi was so small you would have missed it if you blinked twice.

Along with the fields of blue bonnets are fields of these pink flowers. I think they are evening primrose.
