Just a few more weeks until flying out to California to start the trip! Today my bike ships out. Black Bear Bike shop disassembled my bike and I was there to "help." Notice the cut out on the top of the box? The bike wouldn't sit down far enough in the box to close. So David, at Black Bear, cut a second box to act as the top seal. And before you think "you should have just lowered the seat post," that post is actually part of the frame and doesn't move. The movable part of the seat post is on the seat (that you can see in the bottom of the box near the back wheel). An option would have been to remove the back wheel, but then we would have needed a wider box. Lucky for me I left the bike packing up to the experts. Labels inside and out of the box.
