Day 9 - Rest Day at Catalina State Park

Today is our first rest day and I needed it. I am tired and my ankle is bothering me again. Therefore, I gave up the hike in the park today.  I am sure if I was doing a normal routine it would be better.  I did hitch a ride in a car to a local REI store and local bike shop.  I picked up some more energy food and a state of Arizona bike jersey.  We also stopped at a Walmart where I purchased more band aids for the raw fingers (due to the constant hand sanitizer used before touching food) and for SPF 45 lip balm.

Janet and I did walk back from the entrance ranger station so that we could snap a few pictures and make a phone call or two before we lost cell service further into the park. Tomorrow is back on the bike…

The local REI store made some profit with our group today.  In the photo are Jane, Henry and Nate.  We caused the store to run out of UV protection sleeves.
