Day 26 - Rest Day in Concan, TX

I am posting early today so I can head to bed early too. Today was a rest day and it was well needed.  It has misted off and on throughout the morning which also meant it was a good day to be off our bikes.  Frances, one of the staff members, took Janet and I for a ride back to a small boutique shop we passed on the road yesterday.  I bought myself a black/green cactus blouse to remember all the deserts we passed through on the ride.  I went for a short walk to the river where the few tent campers in our group spent the night.  It was absolutely beautiful and peaceful there.  There were just a few tent campers because there were not enough cabins for everyone.  Bubba had more than enough volunteers to fill the few tents.  Tomorrow we bike about 72 miles to Kerrville, TX where we will all be in tents again.  Today for lunch we had homemade pizza by Anne and it was delicious.  A few days ago, as we were riding, Janet asked me if I could have any food for dinner that day, what would I choose.  I said “pizza.”  So today when Anne brought out the pizza, I was in heaven. In a few days we will be in Lockhart, TX and I cannot wait because my family will be there for a short evening visit!!

This was hanging in a tree, in the campground, on the way to the river.  Due to cropping, it appears much larger than its 10 inches.

I got this pretty shot after I so gracefully slipped on the moss by the trees.

Homemade pizza for lunch...it doesn't get any better.

I'm not sure if this was hanging out to dry, or just a handy place to store.
