Day 7 - Gila Bend to Casa Grande

Today was a very long day (87 miles) due to a change in the camping location.  However...the extra mileage today is less for tomorrow.  Yes!!

We started the day in the Sonoran Desert and it was quite the view.  After that section, it was kind of the same for the rest of the day – sun and more sun.  I did have a few unforeseen obstacles come up.  First up, was a credit card fraud alert.  I knew I shouldn’t have charged at the Dollar General – it is a cancelled now and lesson learned.

Then my gears kept jumping.  When we arrived at the next SAG Stop, Coach adjusted my cable which fixed the problem.  Next up was a group of three pit bulls running after us and almost knocking down Janet.  Luckily, we averted any major issues, however, Nick on the ride was bitten by one of the dogs.  He is ok, and several us gave the Animal Control office statements.

Long day…short post.

We rode by two cattle farms.  The first one may have been almost a mile long.  This is just a small view.

The ONLY shade tree we saw all day. Janet and Semone just arriving under the shade.
