Day 45 - Pensacola to Milton, FL

Today started with a delicious breakfast prepared by the Methodist Church group.  We were encouraged to take our time because today’s ride was so short.  Bubba explained that the last two days used to be just one long day, but he split the miles into two this year.  It all sounded good to me; resting today was just too nice to pass up.  The route started on the Pensacola Scenic Bluff route.  I had no idea that there would be some small rolling hills in the panhandle of Florida; nothing we couldn’t handle after Texas!  Janet, Linda (Queenie) and I stopped at a Target to satisfy our Starbuck’s cravings. We savored the coffee for at least 45 minutes and then it was on to the campground.  We are staying in a KOA today.  It is shaded in the tent area and the restrooms are clean – who could ask for anything more?  Today we celebrate Sue’s birthday; the oldest rider on this year’s tour turns 79 years young.

Bubba had this listed on our SAG Sheet as OMG - then told us we would know we were there once we saw it. The roofs are all painted metallic gold.

Our tour chef, Anne, made us sushi for snack today.  Tell me, who gets sushi while riding their bike across the country - and without having to stop and buy it for themselves?!  Anne rocks!
